Nadat de vorige Steam update van Counter-Strike Source voor vele fans en competitieve spelers een dikke domper was door de introductie van vele nieuwe bugs (te denken aan dxlevel 70 bug) komt Valve nu met een der beste Steam updates in CS Source geschiedenis. Valve wist ons vorige week al te melden dat er een grootse update eraan zat te komen maar vele spelers in de gemeenschap hadden eigenlijk een minimale en verwaarloosbare Steam update verwacht. Met de komst van de Source port van de zeer populaire map van de_nuke heeft ook het competitieve circuit een extra map in de rotatie, en met de toevoeging van de "Crouching while traversing a ladder reduces the player’s speed" feature zal er een nieuwe dimensie toegevoegd worden. Ondanks het feit dat de CPL voor CS1.6 heeft gekozen als main game met de World Series komt CS Source in opmars en worden er in Amerika al geruchten verspreid dat een CPL Summer niet moet worden uitgesloten als Valve haar huidige Steam Update trend in stand houdt.
